Financial Assistance

WPGA FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FUND

WPGA's financial assistance program aligns with our philosophy of diversity, equity and inclusion. The program is intended to support prospective and current students from junior kindergarten to grade 12 whose families are not able to afford the full cost of tuition.  
THIRD-PARTY PARTNER AND PROCESS

WPGA works with Apple Financial Services (AFS), a member of the Financial Aid for Canadian Students organization. Applications for financial assistance are reviewed by the team at AFS, which ensures equity, zero-bias, and confidentiality in the process.

AFS completes a review of family finances and makes a recommendation regarding financial assistance to the Financial Assistance Committee at WPGA, who then determine how much support can be offered. Financial assistance is based on family need, the number of requests received by the school each year, and the amount of funds available. 

Recipients of financial assistance must reapply each year to determine whether the same level of funding will be recommended and available the following year.

  • Fees

    The estimated turnaround time for AFS is 2-3 weeks upon receipt of an application and necessary documentation. The cost to submit an application to AFS in fall 2024 is $137.50. If applying to more than one school, an additional $15 fee is required for each other school.

  • Deadlines

    The deadline for financial assistance applications is November 13, 2024.

    The process for admission to WPGA and the process for financial assistance at WPGA follow slightly different timelines. The important dates are as follows:

    Receive a decision regarding both the application for admission to WPGA and the application for financial assistance at WPGA.
     

  • Families already enrolled at WPGA

    • November 13, 2024: Deadline for AFS financial assistance application.
    • December 2024-January 2025: Receive a decision regarding the application for financial assistance.
