As many of you get ready for some much needed time with your children in the coming weeks, the school would like you to consider your drop off arrangements for next year. As was shared at the recent 20/20 Vision evenings, our new campus plan will include a significant change to our drop off/pick up arrangements by creating a loop with extra parking and stopping zones. While this will improve the congestion in our current traffic points, there is and will continue to be a need to consider alternate transportation to and from the school.

We ask you to examine your drop off routine and consider one of the following options:
• Car Pool Program
• Morning Bus Service

Car Pooling- as the attached map indicates, many of our families live in very close proximity. Besides the obvious environmental benefits, the school would like to connect families who will consider the convenience of car pooling with others living close by. Please note the number of families in your area and contact the senior school reception if you would like to consider carpooling arrangements.

Morning Bus Service – the school now has a fleet of vehicles used extensively during the day for school related trips; however, typically these buses are unused early each morning. Parents are asked to consider using a WPGA bus service to school in order to reduce some of the congestion. The purpose of program is to offer an affordable, convenient and environmental alternative to personal vehicle use. The proposal would include 2 pick-up times at 3 different locations including the 4th Ave. Safeway at Vine, Kerrisdale Community Centre and Dunbar Community Centre. The bus would drop-off students directly on campus in front of the junior school by 7:10am and again by 8:10am. There would be a nominal fee for this service. Please contact Mr. Pike for general inquiries and more information will be available in late August.
