Cindy Neufeglise-Ross (SS)
Cindy brings over 25 years of extensive experience in the mental health field to her role as Senior School Counsellor at WPGA. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia, and has dedicated her career to supporting adolescents and their families through the often challenging stages of development.
Cindy’s professional background includes working with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority in hospitals, specialized eating disorder programs, and mental health centres. Before joining WPGA, Cindy spent many years counselling within the ISABC school community, where she became known for her commitment to student wellbeing and her ability to create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment for diverse groups.
Cindy’s therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Informed/ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She supports individuals from varied cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and family dynamics, ensuring personalized care tailored to each student's unique needs.
At WPGA, Cindy teaches social-emotional learning lessons designed to equip students with the tools to manage stress and anxiety, build resilience, and foster self-awareness. Her collaborative approach involves working confidentially with students and their families as well as consulting with outside professionals, as needed, to provide comprehensive and holistic support.
Passionate about self-determination, Cindy believes in the potential of every individual to grow, thrive, and overcome challenges. Her mission is to alleviate the distress many adolescents face, guiding them toward greater self-compassion, emotional well-being, and a stronger connection to their authentic selves.
