Global Online Academy Day - February 14

By Ms. Lindsay Haider, Head of Social Studies

Friday, February 14 is Global Online Academy Day, and WPGA’s Global Studies students are midway through their Global Online Academy (GOA) courses. This year, 12 students are enrolled in a variety of classes as part of our Global Studies Diploma Program; courses include Problem Solving in Engineering, An Introduction to Legal Thinking, Prisons and Criminal Justice Systems, and An Introduction to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency are just a few of what GOA has to offer.

This year’s course theme is Nexus, and it is fitting that our students are working with others around the world to connect, communicate, and cultivate their skills as global scholars. Ann Wang '25 says, "In the GOA course Problem Solving with Engineering and Design, we have the opportunity to dive into hands-on learning that isn’t typically offered in school courses. So far, we’ve designed protective boxes for eggs and tested paper helicopters, and now we’re gearing up to build card bridges. It's been a fun, interactive way to apply creativity and problem-solving skills."

Enrollment for GOA summer courses and the 2025-2026 school year opens soon. If interested in learning more about GOA, please contact Ms. Haider. #GOALearning
